What are box sections?
Steel box sections are hollow steel sections, sold in either squares or rectangles, which are commonly used for:
- Welded steel frames
- Strong, semi-permanent structures
- Fences
- Trailers
In essence, any structure which experiences loading in multiple directions is an ideal candidate for being created with steel box sections. Square sections are particularly effective in projects where multi-axial loading is required, as their uniform geometry provides uniform strength characteristics.
